Your Smile

The darkness coats my vision,

Soft pillows engulf my head.

Fingers twitch,

I fall into the void.

I turn at the red dog shit bin.

Expanding ribs define the greyhound’s tightly wrapped skin.

I see your face,

Catch your smile like a bullet to the heart.

I get knocked back

And

Open my eyes to darkness.
